Historic Shockoe Bottom is located in the north-eastern portion of downtown. Bordered by E. Broad Street to the north, 16th Street on the west, Dock Street to the south, and Pear Street to the east. It is one of Richmond’s oldest neighborhoods and has a variety of living options including several former tobacco warehouses that have been converted to loft apartments that overlook the James River.
