Belvidere Street on the west, Interstate 95 to the north, N. 4th Street to the east, and E. Broad Street to the south. Jackson Ward used to be known as the “Harlem of the South,” and is home to many historic homes, including some that were once owned by famous figures such as Maggie L. Walker, the first female bank president in the United States.
